MealForks.com is a custom web platform developed for a food tech startup aiming to build an interactive recipe-sharing ecosystem. Solution
To meet the project’s strategic and technical goals, the development of MealForks.com followed a structured, multi-stage approach. The architecture was designed with scalability and performance in mind, leveraging React.js, Next.js, and PostgreSQL to ensure fast load times, SEO optimization, and stable data management. The UI was implemented using Chakra UI to provide intuitive, accessible navigation across all device types, supporting a responsive user experience from the outset.
A core focus was placed on user management and personalization. The platform includes a secure registration and authentication system, enabling each user to maintain a unique profile showcasing their published recipes, ranking status, and activity history. A gamified, points-based ranking system was built with Redux Toolkit to encourage participation through content submissions, reviews, and collaborative modifications.
To support content discovery, advanced search and filtering functionality was implemented using RTKQuery. Users can easily find recipes based on specific ingredients, cooking time, or difficulty level. In addition, a custom recipe editor built with Formik enables seamless modification of existing content, promoting continual content improvement through community input.
All data interactions are managed through secure APIs and a robust PostgreSQL backend, ensuring consistency and reliability. Prior to launch, the entire platform underwent thorough functional and performance testing, with regular post-launch updates guided by real user feedback to further enhance usability and engagement
