About client
The client is one of the largest companies in Illinois specializing in checking the integrity of homes. Their main activity involves inspecting residential and commercial buildings. The company aimed to improve the quality of architectural inspection reports and simplify the process of creating them. The primary goal was to automate and optimize existing workflows to increase efficiency. At the time they contacted us, they already had a basic reporting system, but it required significant improvements to enhance speed and usability. As a result, the client was looking for a solution that could integrate new tools necessary to streamline the work of architects and inspectors.
About project
Derma is a web service designed to simplify and accelerate the process of creating detailed home inspection reports for architects. We understood that compiling such reports is time-consuming, so we created a powerful platform that allows users to generate high-quality reports quickly and efficiently. The platform is intended for architectural firms and property inspection companies looking to optimize their reporting processes. One of the key clients, a leading inspection company in Illinois, needed a system capable of streamlining the inspection of properties and report generation. Derma provides tools that help professionals organize their data and findings quickly and conveniently.
Goals and objectives
1
Develop a user-friendly reporting tool.
2
Optimize the report generation process for architects.
3
Implement photo editing and annotation features.
4
Enable fast PDF report creation.
5
Simplify data organization and grouping.
Solution
To meet the client’s needs, we implemented a comprehensive solution consisting of several key steps. First, detailed requirements were gathered from architects to ensure the platform met their functional and non-functional needs. We then designed a modular application architecture using Next.js, ensuring scalability and ease of maintenance. The user interface was created with a focus on simplicity and usability, utilizing HTML, CSS, and interactive visualizations with D3 for generating dynamic graphs and charts in reports. Stripe was integrated for payment processing, enabling secure payments for reports and subscriptions. The application's state management was implemented with Redux, ensuring efficient data flow. After development, thorough testing was conducted to fix bugs and optimize performance. Finally, the platform was deployed, and monitoring tools were implemented to track usage and collect user feedback.
Tools & Technologies
Result
The developed platform significantly improved the efficiency of report generation for architects by offering a user-friendly interface with advanced tools. Users can now create detailed house plans, attach annotated photos, and add custom evaluation criteria. The system greatly reduced manual work, saving up to 63% of the time previously spent on report creation. This comprehensive solution allows architects to quickly and effectively generate professional PDF reports, enhancing productivity and accuracy.
